If you’re eligible for a pension auto-enrolment, you don’t need to do anything to get enrolled in to your company pension when you join – it’s your employer’s responsibility to enrol you.

The law

UK-based employers must provide a company pension scheme and enrol their eligible employees into it when they join. This is called a pension auto-enrolment.

This means that when you join your employer, you'll be automatically enrolled in to the company pension within your first month of employment without having to do anything.

To be eligible for auto-enrolment, you need to be:

  • are aged between 22 and the State Pension Age

  • earn at least £10k per year (or £833 per month, or £129 per week).

Your pension contributions

By law your monthly pension contributions will be set at a minimum 8% of your salary, 3% of which will come from your employer as a minimum.

You can decide to increase your monthly pension contributions directly in Onfolk, or to opt-out of your pension.
