β Bank holidays can be included or excluded from each time-off policy allowance
When creating a time off policy, you are given the choice to include or exclude national bank holidays from the allowance.
Included bank holidays: this option means that bank holiday days are considered as non-working days. A time-off policy created with bank holidays included in the allowance means no allowance will be deducted when booking over bank holiday days.
eg. an 'Annual Leave' policy of 25 days with UK bank holidays means employees assigned to this policy will get 25 days annual leave + 8 UK bank holidays as time off. You don't need to add bank holiday days to your allowance as they'll already be considered as time off, on top of your time-off policy.
Excluded bank holidays: this options means that bank holiday are considered working days. In this scenario, you'll need to add additional days to your time-off policy to include the quantum of bank holiday days usually applicable. This also means that for a time-off policy created with bank holidays excluded, allowance will be deducted when booking over bank holiday days.
eg. an 'Annual Leave' policy of 32 days' allowance will need to be created if your company awards 25 paid time off days + 8 UK bank holiday days.
πΊοΈ Bank holidays are based on your country of residence
When you select the option to include bank holidays in your time-off policy, Onfolk automatically books off bank holidays days relevant to the employee's country of residence.
For eg, you've created an annual leave policy with bank holidays included. You assign the policy to an employee who's country of residence is in France. The bank holiday days that will be considered non working days for them will be that of France.
Therefore one time-off policy with bank holidays included can be assigned to employees in different countries of residence - National bank holidays for these countries will automatically be considered as non-working days in Onfolk.
