Use case
If you've recently joined Onfolk and are setting up your company's policies, or need to create a new time off policy, this article will show you how to do this in a couple of minutes.
How to create a new time off policy
1. Log into your Onfolk portal
2. Head to the "Time off" section, and go to the "Policies" section
This section will show you all current time off policies you have set up. Clicking on any of them will enable you to edit the policy's settings.
3. Click on "Setup new policy"
4. Set up your policy (see details below the screenshot)
(1) Policy name: the name of this policy will appear in employees' time off section - we'd recommend using a title that is linked to your employee handbook.
(2) Renewal date: this corresponds to when you'd like the time off policy's allowance to reset. Most will reset every year on the 1st January.
(3) Annual allowance: this is the total amount of days an employee will be able to book from this policy. If you want this policy to have an unlimited number of days, tick option (5) "Unlimited Number Of Days".
(4) Annual carry-over days: in the event an employee hasn't used up their whole allowance for this policy, you can set the number of days that can be added to the following year.
(5) Tick this box if you'd like your policy to not have a limited number of days.
(6) Treat bank holidays as additional time-off: tick that box if you'd like bank holidays to be considered non-working days as standard. If you tick this book, local bank holidays for the employee's country's of residence will apply. Read more about bank holidays here.
(7) Unpaid leave: checking this box means that any time off booked under this policy will be unpaid.
5. Once you've set up the time off policy, click "Create" - this will create the policy for you โ
You can now assign the time off policy to employees.
