You can reflect your team's time-off dates directly in your team's Google Calendar by syncing it with Onfolk.

How the integration works

The Google Calendar integration reflects the time-off booked in Onfolk by employees in the team calendar. It's a great way to have an overview of who in the team is off on any specific dates.

It looks like this πŸ‘‡

The policy from which the time-off has been booked is kept private.

Only the Google calendar chosen for the integration will reflect the time-off booked. Employees who have booked the time-off won't be sent a calendar invite to reflect the dates booked off in their own calendar.

How to integrate Google Calendar with Onfolk

Only an admin on Onfolk and Google Calendar will be able to set up this integration.

1. If you don't yet have a team calendar on Google Calendar, set this up first.

2. Now go to calendar.google.com

3. On the left-hand side of the page hover over the Team Holidays calendar, then click on the three dots and select "Settings and Sharing".

Then please scroll down to "Share with Specific People". Next your email address can make change the permissions to say "Make changes to events".

4. Visit: calendar.google.com

5. On the right hand side, hover over your team calendar calendar (showing as Onfolk in the screenshot), then click on the three dots

3. Select "Settings and Sharing".

6. Scroll down to "Share with Specific People". Add your email address and select the option "Make changes to events" for Permissions.

πŸ’‘ Depending on how you've configured your team calendar, you might need to tweak permissions before setting up the integration. However the steps above should work for standard Google Calendar accounts.

7. Now go back to the Integrations tab in Onfolk and sign into your Google account.

8. Select the team calendar you'd like to integrate with. Below we're integrating the Onfolk platform with the calendar called "Onfolk".

9. You're done!

ℹ️ A few additional things to be aware of:

  1. Time-off requests confirmed before the integration won't be reflected in Google Calendar

  2. Once integrated, all time-off requests will be shown in your team's Google Calendar. You won't be able to pick which time-off policies are reflected or not (yet).
