β
How the Slack / Onfolk integration works
Integrating Slack to Onfolk will allow you to:
Get notified of birthdays, new joiners, work anniversaries, time-off in the public Slack channels of your choice. See an example below π
Admins get a message every Monday morning that rounds up all events for the week: birthdays, new joiners, leavers, work anniversaries, holidays etc.
Managers get notified of their reports' time-off requests in Slack
Each worker gets privately notified in Slack when their time-off requests have been confirmed or rejected.

How to set up your Slack integration
Activate the integration in Onfolk
Head to your Integrations tab
Click on "Slack", then "Connect"
On the Permissions page, select your company's Slack community
Set permissions to share data between Slack and Onfolk as follows π, and click "Allow"
π‘ Make sure to select the same permissions as shown above in the screenshot, as Onfolk will need this set to post in your public channels.
You should now see the screen below - which will indicate Onfolk is now integrated with your Slack community.
Map your public Slack channels to each type of notification
The screen above details where each type of notification should be sent. You can choose any public channel from your community for this, and can choose one channel per type of notification, multiple notifications per channel or all notifications in the same channel. You have complete control.
Add @onfolk to each of the public Slack channels you'll be sending notifications to.
To do this, either create a message with @onfolk in each of the channels to add it:
Or add the Onfolk app to each channel π
To do this, click on the channel on the top of your screen > Integrations > Add an app > select Onfolk.
Repeat for each public Slack channel you wish to send Onfolk notifications to.
You can now map your public Slack channels to each type of notification
For each notification type, select the channel you want to send notifications to.
βΉοΈ You will get an error if you try selecting a public channel you have not added @onfolk to.
In this case, go back into Slack and add @onfolk following the previous step.
β
And that's it, you're done! Your integration is now ready to go β
