We understand that your workforce may change and evolve over time. This may include transitioning a contractor to a full-time employee. While we currently do not have a feature to immediately transfer someone from a contractor to a full-time employee, we have a simple solution to help you manage this process seamlessly.

The Process

  • Edit the contractors email address to have an alias. We recommend adding "+contractor" in this case to the contractors emails.

What is an alias?

An email alias with is a special way to use your email address. It lets you add a plus sign (+) and any word after your email name but before the "@" symbol. For example, if your email is "[email protected]," you can change it to "[email protected]." This sends the email to the same inbox, but you can tell it's related to contractor work. It's like giving your email address a label or tag to organise messages better.

  • Set the contractors leaving date via the Actions tab in their profile
    โ€‹

  • Create a new starter via the People page with the email address of the contractor without the alias. Set the start date as the same that's in their employment contract. . This will trigger a new invite to Onfolk. By creating a new starter profile, you can ensure that they give you the appropriate information (Right To Work docs, P45).
